Up at 7 to get ready for our day at Rhodes, Greece. However, it quickly became evident that the weather might not cooperate. There was a 50 knot wind, lightning, thunder and periods of heavy rain. This all made for very rough seas and the ship was getting thrown around pretty good. After a couple of passes at the berth the captain came on the intercom and announced that due to the weather, we were going to have to bypass our port call and proceed to our next destination. So, we ended up with an unexpected sea day.

Went down for a late breakfast with the rest of the ship and planned our day, which didn’t take all that long. For the girls, they were going to take in a Microsoft 8 workshop at 11:30 and bingo at 2:30. LeVerne and I decided we were going to maybe wander around the ship for a bit then go back to our respective cabins and nap the morning away. The girls didn’t last long at their workshop as it was about how to put parental controls on the new Windows OS. LeVerne and I were more successful in pulling off our plan.

Joined up with the girls again for a late lunch then it was time for bingo. I went back to our cabin and watched the movie Two Guns with Mark Walberg and Denzil Washington. Not a bad way to kill a couple of hours. Lee came back to the cabin after bingo with no winnings but Carole won the first of four games and pocketed $88. With an hour or two to kill before dinner, I wandered down to the casino and ended up winning $30, 15 cents at a time, on the Denver Duck slot machine.

Dinner was again a great experience with Weda our head waiter and Prio his assistant. After dinner we wandered thru the shops on deck 5 for a while then decided to find somewhere to have a game of cards. We found the Hudson Room and it was made to order, a small room off to the side with a couple of card tables. We managed to complete one game of Ukrainian Rummy which Carole organized and it took close to two hours. I won.

After our card game, it was back to the casino for an hour or so, then back to the cabin at 11 pm.
