Woke up to an overcast and rainy morning. After a coffee or two in the hotels first floor guest kitchen, the four of us donned our raincoats and ventured out. We decided to walk over to the Parliament grounds to try and catch the changing of the guard again. From there, we wandered back in the general direction of our hotel.

And wouldn’t you know it, we once again stumbled upon our favorite bakery. In we went and purchased some pastry for a late breakfast when we got back to our hotel.

Finishing breakfast, we again left the hotel for one last walk through our neighborhood.

As Lee and I had to pack and were traveling later in the day, we went back to the hotel after a short time. Carole and LeVerne weren’t flying out until tomorrow so they continued on. They ended up doing the same circuit as Lee and I had done the day before; Zappeion Hall, the Presidential Palace, the Panathenaic Stadium, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian's Gate.

Late in the afternoon, Lee and I checked out of the Tempi and rolled our luggage over to the Monastiraki Line 3 metro station in Monastiraki Square. Boarding the metro train, it was a 30-minute ride to the Athens International Airport metro station. After locating the Alitalia check-in counter, we checked in and got our boarding passes for our flight to Rome on Alitalia AZ0721. Our flight left on time at 7:05 pm.

We arrived at the Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport in Rome at 8:10 pm (1 hr time change) after an uneventful 2-hour 5-minute flight. Collecting our luggage, it only took us a few minutes to find our shuttle stop for our 10-minute ride to the Comfort Hotel Roma Airport.

No restaurant on site, so we settled for snacks in our room. Off to bed early in anticipation of a long day traveling tomorrow.
